Counseling & Support Services


Nevada Urban Indians received the Methamphetamine Suicide Prevention Initiative (MSPI) to prevent Substance Abuse and the promotion of Suicide Prevention awareness. The Substance Abuse program offers assistance and support to American Indian/Alaskan Natives in the Washoe and Carson Communities in achieving an addiction-free lifestyle, which is certified by the State of Nevada.

Substance Abuse

Substance Abuse Prevention, Education, and Outpatient Treatment services are available to Urban American Indian/Alaskan Native Adults, Adolescents, Couples and Families. Services may include:

  • Alcohol/Substance Abuse Assessments/Evaluations and Screenings
  • Individual/Group Counseling
  • Family/Couples Alcohol/Substance Abuse Counseling
  • Education (Alcohol/Drug Education, Relapse Prevention, Problem Solving, Coping Skills, etc.)
  • Interpersonal Skills Training (Communication Skills, Assertiveness Training, etc.)
  • Crisis Intervention
  • Aftercare/Continuing Care Counseling
  • Community Outreach and Advocacy
  • Referral Services
