Nevada Urban Indians, Inc. would like to congratulate our Victim Services Program Director Tarah Sanchez for winning the Outstanding Advocate award this year. Tarah received nominations from various community members who all expressed how dedicated Tarah is in her work at NUI. Tarah’s passion for helping those in need shows by her being a chairperson for the Domestic Violence Task Force Subcommittee, Vice Chair for the Alliance for Victims’ Rights, a member of the Washoe County Fatality Review Board and a board member for the Nevada Coalition for Suicide Prevention. Tarah continues to find ways to improve community relations and to expand on the services provided by the Victim Services Program.
