POSITION TITLE: Program Coordinator – Victim Services – FT
STATUS: Non-Exempt, Eligible for overtime
LOCATION: Reno & Carson City Office
POSTING PERIOD: 02/06/2012 – 02/17/2012
SALARY: $13.83-18.05 hourly, plus benefits
POSITION: The Program Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating the Domestic Violence program including supervision of one (1) full time Community Liaison. The position reports to the Executive Director and is funded by a grant from the State of Nevada with the goal of breaking the intergenerational cycle of violence. The incumbent will be responsible for providing services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault including intervention, community referral, advocacy, etc. The position is located in our Reno office with required weekly travel to our Carson City office.
EXAMPLES OF WORK: (the following is a partial description)
Provide direct services to primary and/or secondary victims involved in domestic violence and/or sexual assaults; Conducting intake and assessment of service needs with adult family members (i.e. counseling, community referral, advocacy, etc.); Advocates for victims by assisting with scheduling various appointments (i.e. medical needs, law enforcement services, employer notification, landlord/tenant issues, child care services, etc.); Accompanying clients to legal proceedings and appointments when necessary; Assist in stabilizing the family through referral of various services (i.e. emergency shelter, obtaining food, child care services, educational& counseling services, etc.); Compile monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to funding agencies, Executive Director, and Board of Directors; Provide victims with complete and accurate information regarding shelter residence and/or house rules
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A degree in social and/or human services, psychology, criminal justice, or related field, AND two years of experience working with domestic violence victims in an advocate capacity and work within the legal system, OR an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT: Employment will be contingent upon completion of a pre-employment drug screen and fingerprinted criminal background check with satisfactory results.
