Victims Of Crime Assistance Services

Victims of Crime Assistance Department Staff
Kaleena Ponce - Family Service Specialist
Suzanne Crawford - VOCA Coordinator

The Victims Of Crime Assistance Program, funded by federal, state and local grants, provides services to individuals who have been a victim of a crime with a primary focus on those individuals of Native American Descent.  Our goal is to minimize the impact for the victim and promote well-being.

Services Provided
The Victims Program offers a variety of services, including an emergency food bank for clients of Nevada Urban Indians, Inc.  We have a 24-hour Crisis Call Line.  We assist victims of crime with funding for emergency housing when a police report and temporary protection order (T.P.O.) are on file with the appropriate agency.   The Program Coordinator and Community Liaison are qualified to aid our clients with Court and Justice System Advocacy.  Through collaboration with the other agencies, we are able to offer crime scene support and employment assistance.   Clients of the Victims Program have access to services offered by the other programs of Nevada Urban Indians, Inc. including, but not limited to, counseling services, tutorial programs, and health education.  Our goal is to minimize the impact for the victim and promote well-being.
