Substance Abuse Department Staff
Christine Leclerc, LADC, QMHA, MS- Substance Abuse Counselor

Individuals tend to under utilize health care services in general.  Treatment for alcohol and drug abuse is no exception.  Nevada Urban Indians, Inc. serves an area between Reno and Carson City where Native Americans and other ethnic group access to treatment is limited.

The Nevada Urban Indians, Inc. substance abuse program is dedicated to providing quality outpatient treatment.  Efforts are made to help each client become aware of the relationship between substance use and the effects it may have on the individual’s life.  The client deals with feelings and behaviors that are a result of substance abuse or dependency.

The program is culturally sensitive and strives to ensure the client is treated with respect. The client learns how substance abuse affects each individual and their life. The goal in treatment is to return the client to a productive life as well as to learn better ways to deal with stress and life challenges.
